An interesting group posted, but the only way (IMO) to make a decent assessment would be to see it first hand. FP

Heck, let's just round it for simplicity sake to an even 1/2 million.

I know the collection and by no means are they showing the best... As far as price it is one of those things you have to see personally...

From the emails with pictures I got (& there were many), it seemed like there were many interesting pieces in there. I would say it's a "complete" collection in that it's got a lot of varied things, medals, paper, bayonets, daggers & some interesting swords. A lot of swords & KM stuff though, not really within my sphere of collecting but a pleasure to see the culimnation of someone's collecting over years.

Billy/Damast,
What else is in the collection? Any named RKs, etched and presentation pieces, etc? For the price, I would think that there would be some relatively hard to find items.

Checked the sellers rating: 95%. Unless I'm reading it wrong or e-ban is concealing negative feed-back I see 15 "negatives".

One would have to have their head examined to bid that kind of money without being there and able to drive away with it.

I imagine that an interested buyer would make the trek accross the country with thier vehicle to inspect the collection. He's probably just using ebay as a medium to draw interested parties in and reach a larger audience. But Serge, i'm with ya. I wouldn't dare make a puchase, even in the 10K range over ebay with the internet unless I knew the seller and knew that they could be trusted. Big money is a leap of faith.

James is right, most of the items are Imperial. There are a number of DKGs, a pair of RK urkunden & some Luft badges. One thing I will say is someone took a long time to amass such a cache of stuff. Just remembered, there was an interesting white grip plate Italian Fascist dagger with some sort of blade inscription.
