Moments before I post here, I gave a look at the "Bayo ID help, Please" post from Dave.Now I know what the wilkinson one is.I need some opinions and a value please.So here we go.

This is a Gras french bayonet with a lot of marknings.If anyone could identify and translate what it says at the top I would be gratefull.




The scabbard and the bayonet numbers do not match unfortunately.


Take a look at the Wilkinson one.Anyone can ID the year of manufacture?In wich rifle was this bayonet used?(Wilkinson Sword is the company that makes razor blades nowdays )









Here I have an unknown to me bayonet.It is in great shape, unissued.Any ID and opinions appreciated.



It has a single 0 marking on the wood.


This the only nymber in this bayo.No maker, no anything else.

Hi Phatt, Second bayo is a british 1907 pattern bayonet looks to be made in November 1908. Third one looks like a Japanese type 30 with straight crossgaurd but Im sure more learned people than me will soon post answers.second one looks nice.

The French M1874 Gras bayonet was made in the ****nal of Châtellerault in November 1876.

The British P1907 bayonet was made by Wilkinson in November 1918.

The bottom one is a Belgian FN made export bayonet (M1924 long export), probably made after WW2.

The first four letters of the English word for a weapons manufacturing facility apparently are not allowed on this forum, as they are being censored.

The poorly struck year of manufacturing on the P1907 might also be a 08 for 1908. It has Wilkinson´s Pall Mall adress on it and I don´t know when this was used. If it is 1908, then it must have had the hook removed and the oil cleaning hole drilled later.

OMG you really know what you're doing over here.I didn't knew they made so long bayonets after the war.
Noone has any idea about fair prices?

Kilian, This is an edited pic of 1907 bayo, if you look at number before 8 it must be an 0.

Estimated values are as follows:

French M.1874 Gras, non matching, VG+ - $70-120
English P.1907, early '08 date, hooked quillon removed - $80-140
Belgian M.1924 (long) Export Model - $40-75

Value of the Gras bayo will be low end of figures quoted as scabbard serial doesnt match bayo serial and scabbard should have blued finish which appears to be long gone

The french Bayonet is called Mle. 1874 Gras made by Manufacture de Armes de Châtellerault November 1876.


The britisch Bayonet is a former No.1 MKI (P1907 MKI)made November 1908 by Wilkinson conferted to a No.1 MKII (P1907 MKII) by removing the quillion und put in a cleaning hole in the hilt.
This bayonet is a "copy" of the Japan Arisaka M1897 Modell.
Wilkinson made the most % of the total producing
of the P1907 bayonets. It looks like been used since end of WW2.


The beligan Bayonet is a M 24/30 Export Modell. send to china, ex-jugoslawia, Kongo und many other contrys.
