What do you mean about this dagger: real or fake? It`s not my dagger. I don`t know if there`s a number under the frog stud. Thanks JanC

The dagger currently is at ebay. With BURGSMLLERs there should be a (parts) number (of HRSTER) downside = inner side on the frog stud. Hard to be seen.

New info: There is no number under the frog stud. The scabbard is magnetic, but the stud and the ball are not!

ALL Burgsmuller's have a frog stud number. IF NOT, the scabbard is suspect. I would check the ball on the end as it should be magnetic and steel, not brass. Also, I don't like the blade without seeing it in person and the ST number is not the normal font for this school. The frog looks too narrow for an NPEA. Overall, I would pass. At least the scabbard sounds bad as no number on the frog stud and unmagnetic (probably brass) stud and ball are absolute no nos for BURGSMLLERs. These NPEAs are one of the hardest to check III.R. daggers. Before seriously thinking of buying they always need an in hand check of an in NPEAs experienced collector. If there wouldnt be such prominent red flags like here are everything is possible.

I think also the dagger is dubious, but I want to hear your opinions before I tell this to the owner of the dagger. Thanks for your info. JanC
