It's an early piece. As you can see, the wood has been dyed.

Your first picture is a classic example of how a SS dagger can look brown(SA).I almost missed one once because of that.Great looking dagger you have.

Super KLASS .....Congrats!!! Now the fun begins, in Researching it!!! We have five (5) GDC Members (of whom I am aware - there may be more) who do SS # Research, based upon SS Numbers: (Listed Below In NO Specific Order ): 1. Berne Brule' 2. Rob McDivitt 3. Ron Weigand 4. SS-Researcher 5. John P. Moore (CD on SS Signal's Officers) I have a numbered SS 36 Chained, and I had 3 of the above perform detailed research - much of which contained much duplicate information, but some Unique information to each! Together, the information was super, & I even got 2 Photographs in SS Uniform. Pretty special... Ask around, and the choice(s) is/are yours!!! It's sobering to see the details in writing & period information..... Dave / dblmed

Troy,
Each "Researcher" of the 5 Above, has a WebSite, or can be reached through GDC PM's or eMails.
Ron is Wienand - for correct spelling (!)
Prices are fairly consistent - just need to contact them individually & see what there fees are ..... & what you get for the $$.
(Whatever the $$, it is going to reasonable - for the information which you receive in return, IMHO) Dave / dblmed

Hi Troy:
Congrats on your discovery! I looked him up at the Archives this week and found that there is both a SS Officer file and a Race & Settlement file for Helmut Schumacher. The RuSha (Race & Settlement) file includes the three required photos of him and three of his wife. Attached is one of his portraits. What luck to get him in his SS uniform! Contact me if interested in acquiring copies of everything.
