there is a nazi eagle, no M, acceptance stame on the lower belt loop flange of the scabbard.

These knives were used before and after the war. They were used by civilians and by Navy divers.
I am told that the thing to look for is a maker mark and a waffen amp stamp if you are looking for military issue.
