OK...lets see what kind of luck I've had downsizing these photos. Bought this item along with another beatup SA dagger at a yard sale few months back. Been doing research on them ever since. Had originally photographed them with a blue background but didn't like them. Anyway, showing them for suggestions, comments, etc. The scabbard and blade is steel. Tiny piece missing from bottom of blade. No dents in scabbard. Hanger and Portapee in great condition. No wear or tear.

Are you sure the scabbard is steel or is it possibly aluminum?

Well, if magnets are attracted to aluminum, it could be that. The magnet sure is attracted to that scabbard
