can someone please tell me what the GAU marking is on these daggers, and post a picture? What is the story behind a GAU marking? I am sure it has something to do with the district it was produced in, but is there more to it than that? Is it desirable? rare?

Gau Marks on daggers were for the Gau that the daggers were to be sent to to be distributed in. The markings to my knowledge were not done at the factory.

Actually the marks on SA cross guards are SA Gruppe marks - not Gau marks. This is a map of the SA Gruppen in Germany.
