Hi :
TK Rings only come with 4 inscription dates , so a Mueller SS Ring with a 08.10.1942 date can not be original , correct ???
Only picture I have , ...Ring posted on other forum , comes with document . Owner says its real, but this letter stile I have seen on fakes , or am I wrong on this one ?

I would say, based on the picture you show, that the ring is a postwar reproduction. The name Mueller and the date do appear on reproductions and the inner band lettering looks very poor indeed. Despite what the owner says, I would avoid purchasing it.

No the ring is not for sale but the owner found it with his granfathers stuff so he knows it has to be good ? Picture he used and posted but that partial water mark on the lower right corner I find odd, does that not look like the Ebay logo ???
I actually told him it was a fake because of the date, which he did not take to kindly too .
He joined a few days ago .
I am not an expert on these Rings but been collecting pictures of many fakes , and this is a letter style used on others and Mueller fakes !
Now is the date not incorrect to start with ?

The four only recognized dates I'm aware of are April 20 for Hitlers Birthday, June 21 for the midsummer pagan festival, November 9 for the putsch anniversary and December 21 for the Winter festival. It would seem to me the date of this ring would be incorrect.

There are 4 frequently encountered dates that Glowlight listed however there are some others that were issued early with dates that had some other significnce, that are completely correct. 30.6.34 (figuratively associated with the Night of the Long Knives) comes to mind, as well as 7.3.36 (Germany's entry into the Rhineland). I've never seen 8.10.42 as a correct date.

Another thing to watch for is a "0" in the date, originals did not have "0"s. I would suggest against ruling out a ring due to a date, use the other indicia of reproductions that you will find on ths forum. No doubt about this one though, it's bad.

Can you get some pictures of the document? Does the document purport to have been issued with this ring?

A document was found with the ring he says but was not posted and do not know if he would post one . Will try .

The ring is a fake.. Wrong date..Also, it has a 0 in front of the date [08],,no way, not happening!

Looks like a copy of the Russian Mueller copies... Remember, he could have a good doc.! ,,doesn't mean the ring is good though..If the doc has that date and the 0 in front of date its bad also....,G.

This ring is probably an easier one to identify , the engaving lettering , date and 0 , I was convinced of it being a copy .There are other Rings with those errors too.And some good copies I mostly likely would get cought on .
Correctly said , the document could be good .However only an actual hand inspection by an expect in the document field would be only 100% acurate .More and more places are offering laser copies with undistinguishable quality on correct paper etc,etc ...that will fool 'experts' ! Scarry world out there .
