I thought it would be fun to ask what everyone thought on this one. There are two ( 2 ) catagories.

1. Non-paratrooper documents awarded to paratroopers (ex. EK documents (as a rule) are not rare, but EK documents awarded to members of very small, elite units for historically significant engagements, are quite rare)

2. Documents awarded only to paratroopers.

So, what do you think? What is your dream document if you could chose only one?

That is an interesting question! I can think of some cases where only one paratrooper received a particular award, such as, for example, Rolf Mager receiving the Close Combat Clasp in Gold, or Ramcke and the RK/EL/S/D. On the other hand, some ordinarily common things just never seem to turn up and are rare, such as anything related to the Fallschirm-Sturmgeschtz units. I'll have to think about this one!

Chris, your examples prove that there really is no right answer for this question. Was just wondering what people thought. Lw.para badge docs, and mid/late war licenses are not really that rare, but a Lw.para badge doc to an SS paratrooper (only 1 that I know of) or a FSS to a Brandenburger (never seen nor heard of one) would be extreme rarities in my opinion.

Just as another example, how about a Narvikschild doc to an Army paratrooper. Only one awarded that I know of (Lt.Ernst Moessinger) referred to as "Lt.M" in Schmidt's book.

Examples given thus far have all been based on the award recipient, and not the document itself. Here is an example of what I think is a pretty rare paratrooper only document. The formal award document, with original Heidrich signature, for the FJR3 crib.
