Here it is. Notin' real fancy, but it does what it's supposed to. 3" aviator wings and AAF patch came with the owners flight instrument test license from 1944.

I think the WWII AAF wings are very interesting. Military trader had a very nice article on them a couple of issues back.

Nice layout Baron.

Thank you for the kind words fellas.

I love these old Army visors. This Gimbel Bros. is super minty. Grabbed it from a fella on WAF not too terribly long ago. That military missel is kinda neat; war vintage. Being that i'm Catholic, it adds to the display and fits with my dogmas.

Wings are great. I just regret not purchasing a bunch in the last 5-7 years. I have watched them climb significantly in price between 1998 and now. I would see them at antique stores for $5.00. Good luck nowdays.

Best regards,
Tom

Hi John,

The article was in the June 2006 Military Trader. Volume 13, issue 6. Titled "Collecting American Wings", " The Ober Company of WWII", by Andrew H. Lipps.

If you are familiar with "Military trader", it is about the size of a tabloid newspaper. the article was two full pages with 12 photos.

My own interest in these is that my son in law is an engineer for the Air Force and I was able to pick up an original AAF Flight Engineers wings at the SOS a couple of years back.

A couple small additions. Added a few USN items as well as a mini 1902. Getting somewhat cramped in there and starting to look caphony. I think it's just about done.
