Who was it that said eBay is no place to look for nor find nice original & rare daggers? Can't recall, but they are definitely there IF you look.... I recently bought a very nice ALCOSO Army dagger on eBay. It has all the correct parts for the earliest ALCOSO Army. Type 1 everything including the "slant grip" and maker's mark. VERY difficult to find and probably should be called "Rare". eBay. Thanks...... Also just bought a Paul Seilheimer Army that has those old (crisp, sharp, unique) aluminum fittings made by EPack. 2nd type EPack fittings. This one can also be classified as "Rare". One rarely if ever sees either one of these beauties. (Will allow Tom Wittmann to use pics of these in the update of his Army book, if and when, as there have been a bunch of things coming into the light since Tom 1st wrote that book.) DJ

Denny, I agree there are good buys if you are willing to trawl through the endless piles of junk and find a seller that will mail decent pictures. I got a great early wingen slant for a 3rd of what a dealer would ask, although its getting harder now the EBAY police have gotten so paranoid .

I avoid ebay all together. I however commend you for finding these deals, it is no longer easy, nor "safe". I guess I am just too unconfident in my ability to detect fakes from grainy pics. and sense scammers from brief descriptions. Not to mantion the ebay gestapo! Well congetas!!! Can we see a few pics of these rare gems??? Cheers! Johnny

I know it's chancey, but rewards outweigh the risks to me when you find that good one..
I'll get around to posting pics as I have time.

Here is one bad pic of the Armys I picked up of late. Photoskills are not nearly as good as JR's though...... From left: - Paul Seilheimer, early PS in circle mark, 2nd type EPack aluminum fittings. - Alcoso, 1st style mark, fittings, scabbard, slant grip. - Gebr Grafrath, 1st type EPack fittings, scabbard, and slant grip. All are certifiable beauties (to me anyway). Seems when I need a "pick-me-up", these things just start coming out of the woodwork. I have documentation from the gentleman that brought the Alcoso back from Germany at the end of WWII. Makes it special, again... (This was the eBay purchase and I challenge anyone to tell me you can't find super nice and rare items on eBay from time to time.)

Tom Your bids were very "helpful". BUT we both knew where it was going...... ROY was watching and his mouth was watering, but he let it go....

Denny, I was also watching and recieved the extra pics of this EARLY Alcoso last week!(this is the same one?) The pics I recieved made the grip and fittings look darker. The blade also looked to have some rust, how did the condition turn out?? I would have fought tooth and nail for this one if my bank account would have permitted!! Very nice! Kevin.
It's ALL in the DETAILS!!.......

Blade still has a very little rust around the logo, but most everything came out after a cleaning and it looks very nice. Fittings are extra nice. It was a good one for me.... DJ
