Interesting, I have one just like it, only the hilt (fingerguard) and the scabbard hanger seems to differ a bid.

The motto seems to be not 100% correctly positioned on your blade...

I see some red flags (that mine also has):
- cutout of the grip follows the checkering
- and the diamond is "bleeding".

Nevertheless, I consider this RZM HJ knife with motto to be an original made in 1938.

The value should be 350-450 US$ in my opinion.

Best greetings,

Herman

Zorro,

When you are into HJ knife collecting, you encounter doubles al of the time, because these knifes were made in the millions. This is actually the case with most 3R dagger typpes as they were mass produced.

Both the knifes shown here some considerable wear, clearly visible in the pictures.

So I find your comments (like most of the time) quite poor...

Best regards,

Herman

I have never really considered "bleeding" diamonds a red flag... A couple of my knifes has diamonds that "bleed", but Im 100% certain those are real. Of course fake knifes may have bleeding diamonds too, but I dont think its a way to tell that the knife is a guaranteed fake.
Could be wrong, of course...

HJ-collector,

I agree, "bleeding" diamonds are not a real red flag but an imperfection that I prefer not to see on an original HJ knife.

Zorro,

Does this looks like it was made yesterday? If it does to you, then I think that it is time to visit an eye-doctor. Smile

Best greetings,

Herman

Right, seems like we share to same view on bleeding diamonds; A very "small red flag" that gets worse if there are more red flags on the knife, but otherwise just a "fault" that can be on real ones, but its a shame when it is...

I dont think any of the two knifes displayed look "fake new", just good condition.
