Something absolutely different, than all the mint daggers presented here, but I found it interesting enough to share with you. Remains of this dagger were found by someone who sold it CHEAP to me in the woods near the town of Sprottau /Szprotawa (now Poland, but close to Germany). If someone could help to identify the SS-mann #61362 I'd be very happy

Nice patina & may I add kind of nice to have!

The crossguard to blade fit looks a bit rough, could it be a parts dagger. Sorry 777 I hope someone can help with the number. Would be interesting to see how it ended up in the woods, if only it could talk. Cheers Wendy & Ian www.simplydaggers.co.uk

Hi 777:
No hit in my database of those not in the Dienstalterslistes. Closest is 61 352.

777 - The 'Artifact' SS is a unique piece in its own right - looks much like an excavated blade from some 2000 + year old 'dig.'
The find surely demonstrates that the Nickel Silver Guards, do hold up well to the ravages of time!
It would look pretty 'neat' displayed Next to a NM SS Dagger.. Dave.....dblmed
