Something absolutely different, than all the mint daggers presented here, but I found it interesting enough to share with you. Remains of this dagger were found by someone who sold it CHEAP to me Cool in the woods near the town of Sprottau /Szprotawa (now Poland, but close to Germany). If someone could help to identify the SS-mann #61362 I'd be very happySmile

The crossguard to blade fit looks a bit rough, could it be a parts dagger. Big Grin
Sorry 777 I hope someone can help with the number.
Would be interesting to see how it ended up in the woods, if only it could talk.
Cheers Wendy & Ian

777 - The 'Artifact' SS is a unique piece in its own right - looks much like an excavated blade from some 2000 + year old 'dig.'

The find surely demonstrates that the Nickel Silver Guards, do hold up well to the ravages of time!

It would look pretty 'neat' displayed Next to a NM SS Dagger.. Dave.....dblmed
