Hey Guys, Is RZM 941/40/ss a legit maker mark for an M33 dagger? I saw one, and when doing a search here could not seem to find one. I know its an Eickhorn mark, but its the '40'. Opinions?

I see all these 941 Eickhorn blades with the date so would 941/37 also be a good blade? Thank You.SSman

Yes 941/37 is good too. The 941/37 should also carry the Squirrel TM as well.

Here is the line-up for 941 code with or without the squirrel - The squirrel holding up the sword - not the "rat" version or the double oval version.

36 - No Squirrel
37 - Both with and without Squirrel
38 - Yes
39 - Not regular squirrel.
40 - No

Dave. Thanks for the heads up on the 941/37. You state that they came with or without the varmint! One said it should have the squirrel. So I will go with the with or without because mine is without.

Lar, I do not think this is a true RZM Dagger. It looks to be a early dagger & scabbard with a RZM BLADE.

Tom Wittmann book shows no District stamp mark on any RZM ss dagger.

You are right, although that one is usually called "the rat" rather than a squirrel. I have seen a few of these and the fonts are not the same as the others. Here is a pic of the best conditioned one I have seen.

When I first wrote that list, I was referring the 941 codes with the squirrel holding the sword, not those with the double oval or the Rat.

I have added comments to clarify this. Sorry for the confusion.

Dave

PS - Not all collectors accept the Rat or the ones with the double ovals. Also some think that the '36 with the double oval underneath are re-worked Rohm dagger blades that were not used in 1934.
