Hi Dan, Long time no see. Hope things are well. Thanks, he's a work in progress. (needs a new mannequin). Still have that wonderfull trumpet? Question: was it normal for a pilot to wear a sidearm?

Thanks Johann, Trumpets still here, I need one of your wondefull uniforms to display with it, lol

As for your Luftwaffe sidearm question, im not sure if your jokeing about the Grog mug, or asking Serious, but From a Vet I spoke to who served in Afrika, the only Luger he captured during the war was from a Downed Luftwaffe Pilot whom they captured.

Thanks Dan, I think a Luft Luger holster slung low on the leg, (gunfighter style), would "spice up" this set... Wink Can anybody show an example of the leg tie that was used by the Luft, for flare cartridges?

Hello Johann, the most often used Luft sidearms were the Mauser HSC and the Walther PPK. Both in brown leather holsters and worn in the left waist area. Type in Luftwaffe pilot on google and you can find many Luft related sites showing all forms of wear and flight equipment. Bill

Johann old buddy, I have a side arm with belt and holster plus the flare gun AND flares.
Send me the LW uniform and I'll send you a picture of how it all looks.
Sounds good to me. Big Grin
