Nice one!

Is there any repair work towards the tip of the blade? Do you think the scabbard is original to the dagger?

Shame that number isn't in the key...

Very good find !

After I found that first one, I was always hoping that more would appear. I think this is the third.

The blade should be 220mm long. Mine has an anodized scabbard.

I beg to differ about which (if any) mark should be found on the tang. Mine has none as does the other example which I know.

The seven circle tang mark is found on at least three different SS and SA dagger maker-marked blades and M36 chained pieces, as well as NPEA blades.

Congratulations (!)

It is so nice to see these 'Rarer' SS Makers show up, especially in such a very well conditioned Example.

Who knows what is 'still' hidden away in trunks & attics & wall spaces - yet to be uncovered?

Good going & thanks for Sharing !!!!!!

Thx all for your congrats!
- SDP: No repair work toward the blades'tip, only light marks of rust; The scabbard was with the dagger, and all right.
- Wagner: I've a mark on the tang an inversed HR (see the following pic)
- Dave: the length of the blade is good 220 mm.

Smile Lovely dagger!
Mine has no tang-markings, anodized scabbard, and "P.A." crossguards.

Cheers,

Hi Jochen:

Congratulations! 7.7.07 was your lucky day! Through intensive research in the captured TR records in the National Archives, I now have a database of more than 50,000 SS numbers for men not in the Dienstalterslistes. I have been able to identify the original owner of your SS dagger no. 47 165. As an added bonus, he was a member of Leibstandarte SS. Adolph Hitler! Contact me for more information.

Regards,
Ross Kelbaugh

Hi Gents:

Thanks for the inquiries. Unfortunately, I do not have a hit for either number yet (closest are 79 924 and 162 204). Those one or two off are a heart breaker, but as the saying goes, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. I am adding numbers every week and will keep yours on file.

Ross Kelbaugh

Thanks for the compliment Ulf. Unfortunately, I have not found 70 093 as of yet (closest so far are 70 080 and 70 130). I will add it to my file of unidentified that I always check after adding new entries and will let you know if I get a hit.
