I have always thought Heer Waffenrocks,
or Parade tunics were just beautiful.
Because of the war many sat in closets
and remain in nice condition!
Most of the time maybe the eagle was removed
and reattached!
Thats how many came back!
For the money and fun!
These start to look good!
I know many of you collect or have some so lets see a few!
The book looks great!

They also make a nice backdrop for daggers!

I have had some great ones over the years
and really enjoyed them!
PVON
last for now!
I also agree that those Waffenrocks looks great.
I only have one Army Dress tunic and I really like it (pics attached).
These are very esthetic and were historically based on the dress uniforms of Imperial Germany.
Recently bought the book and it is a great reference for anyone interested into the waffenrocks.
Very nice tunics Paul and great display.

Officer quality embroided collar tabs.

Nice tunics. These seem to be under appriciated.
First is a Signals Feldwebel from 33rd Regiment.

Infantry Unterofficer 4th Company 96th Regiment.

Infantry Unterofficier of the 124th Reg.
Straps..
Artillery Schutze 7th Battery 29th Regiment.

Panzer Oberfeldwebel 25th Regiment.

Beautiful waffenrocks display Raymond.
I also agree that these are undervalued and I don't really understand why.
I think that they look great and especially when fully dressed up, with their proper headgear and edged weapon.
Perhaps, one of these days they will become more popular but for now, I'm very happy with the one I have.
Just bought another uniform last week and it is on its way from Europe.
Thanks Pat. That Luftwaffe tunic is a beauty. I look forward to seeing more photos of it when it arrives. One day I plan to have all my tunics on display and complete. It's a long way off but, I don't plan on going anywhere soon.
Raymond
Very nice!
Keep them coming!

There's no rush for me either and I do want to be collecting for many more years to come.
So, let us take our time and buy one piece at the time and once completed, we will all be pleased with ourselves.
Beautiful waffenrocks!!!
I do not have any Heer examples to share, yet if LW examples are welcome I would be more than happy to share!
Nice Luft Pat,very clean!
Paul
Show away!
PVON
Thanks Paul.
All I need now is a nice Luft Officer brocade belt and a nice Visor to go along with it.
Will do my shopping at the Max.
I know that you all have seen these before...

And arriving today, via express mail... General Staff!!! I can hardly wait!
Hopefully, there will be a book on the Luftwaffe dress tunics in the future!
Very impressive collection Paul.
Thanks for sharing those pics with us.
Congrats !
Thanks for showing Paul!

I'm fairly new to the field (1yr) and just purchased my first Waffenrock (panzer, officer) from a local collector. It is excellent condition except for the fact that it doesn't have a liner. The "padding/batting" is there and it looks bad when open. Would anyone consider putting a liner in it or just leave it as is? It "bugs" me like that but can't see it. Thanks, Mike.
Pual - nice subject for a thread.
Raymond - nice Heer Waffenrocks!
Here is one of my favorites. I picked this one up a few months ago in Germany.

Paul,
Thank you for the kind compliments! I very much appreciate them. You have some great items as well!
Mike,
Lets see that tunic.
Doug,
Thank you for sharing that beautiful waffenrock! I really like seeing the Reserve Officer's tunics.

Paul
Paul, I seem to have a problem uploading a picture. I checked my personal permissions and there is no "green check mark" by "photo albums", is that why or do I just need to get my 1 yr old to do it for me. thanks, Mike.
I will PM you my email address... please email the photos to me and I can post them for you!
Kind regards
Paul
All very nice gentlemen! They look beautiful.
I`ve been looking at tunics for a long time but have yet to take the plunge. All in good time I suppose. We can`t have it all...unfortunately
My Feldgendarmerie (or Recruiting) Waffenrock
...and an Infantry NCOs.
My small contribution a signals EM Waffenrock.
Here is mine, Transport. Sorry I put it on the floor but.....lighting.
Tristian,
Beautiful tunics. The orange waffenfarbe really stands out! Transport is another rarely seen tunic!! Thanks for sharing them with us!
Thanks Paul
I'm not sure if I've posted this one before somewhere, but it is appropriate for this thread.
It is a converted Waffenrock for normal wear, presumably post-1939.Blue piped for medical, and you can still see the seam round the middle.
Similar to the one in Curley and Stewart's book, p.31.
My only other Waffenrock..Artillery Officers.
..and lastly, not waffenrock, but piped (don't they look good with the piping!); a Transport Reserve Officer.
I think that the photo for the arty tunic is the recruiter reposted?
I think that the reserve insignia is the sharpest!! I like the double underlay on the shoulder boards!
Paul
What an a***!
Sorry, Arty now attached (RK a repro)
Nice!!!
Hi
These 2 waffenrocks are named and have the Regimental #.
thanks

Hi
This is a pioneer bandman tunics. They are rare

All very nice!
Thanks to all for showing them!

Stellar stuff, Juan(as usual!).
Here is my newest... Named to a famous unit destroyed at Stalingrad. There is a strong chance that this person's photo can be found in the MIA books(i unless he was one of the 36 who escaped!)
His name
Really nice !
That would also be pretty great, if you could find a picture of the actual owner of this tunic.
Thanks Guys!! I can hardly wait to see his photo as well!
Here's my waffen rock

Lovely Mountain green!
I recently picked up a Signals Der Spiess, surprisingly with no medal/award loops.
Glad to see this topic -- and here are a few from my own collection. I was a Luftwaffe collector for many years but started selling the collection almost three years ago for personal reasons. I then resumed collecting about a year ago and decided to concentrate on Waffenrocks and the associated headgear, pants, badges, and accessories. It has been very rewarding. Feel free to contact me if you wish to sell anything --- some wonderful examples of this thread.
Incidentally, this first Waffenrock is named to a Hauptmann Heinz Casper. I just received a file on the officer from Bob Ruzzier, who does research at NARA which takes us up to 1944. He was first assigned, as a new Leutnant, to the test/experimental ordinance and weapons facility at Hillersleben. This is what makes our hobby so much fun -- it's just not the cloth and metal.
All the best for 2008!

Lets see a close-up of that LW DINNER TUNIC --AND IS IT NAMED??. Here my Infatry Parade Dress tunic of Oberst Metz from Leipzig . If someone could please give me more info on him , I would be very thankful !
The decoration loops on this tunic were for Iron Cross 1st class, Infantry Assault Bdage ,a long medal bar , Close Combat Bar , and there are stitch lines for 2 tank destruction award sripes .
a side view .
..and from the other side .
...and closer up view .
..and the super nice shoulder board with the "5".
..and the super nice bullion eagle .
..and bullion collar tab .
..and bullion cuff litzen .
..and close-up right side .
..and close up left side .
..and close up of badges .
..and close-up of medal dress bar and Close Combat BAR .
..and one last view of the backside .Anyhow , anyone with any info on Oberst Metz from Leipzig ??? I would be very grateful . Bernd .
Its a beautyful Waffenrock, but the compilation of the awards is not correct. The owner of a Wiederholungsspange from 1914 would never with a EK II of 1939 awards. The cord is not the Wehrmacht. The Wehrmacht had two braided strands. Also i think, that the EK 1 is a fake.
so long and sorry for my bad english,
Captain from Germany
Additionally, the silver tank destruction badge(s) go on the other sleeve as per regulations. I have seen another Army officer and Knight's Cross winner with a single badge on the wrong sleeve, but in this case, with a waffenrock, the tailor would know the regulations and place them on the correct sleeve.
Bill
Ok . The awards on this tunic are not the ones the owner Oberst Metz had , --they are all replacements by me . Also ,I do have a 2 strand cord I could place on him . The stitch lines for the 2 tank destruction stripes are on the upper sleeve of the right hand sleeve .The tunic itself is of a very fine woven wool material --and I like it a lot !
Just would like to know something about the owners military service !
Here is my newest... for a Bau Major.
Closer
Since the 'Captain " didn't like my last tuni , I thought I better post an other one . Here my Mountain Troop Oberleutnant dress tunic . It is tailor made , but has no name inside the pocket .Decorations are fitted to the loops on the tunic .
...and a closer view.
..and even closer!
..and the collar tab.
..and the shoulder board.
..and the hand stitched bullion 'Edelweiss'.
...and the bullion eagle .
..and the tailor label.
Inside has a waist line cumber band and dagger hanger clip .
..and one side view .
..and one backside view .
..and one shot of the visor cap with the 'Edelweiss' again .
..and a side view of the cap .
Hello All,
Amazing collection !!!
Sebastien.
Now ,how about some Navy tunics? Here a 1st Style white Navy tunic .
..and a close-up .
..and even closer. The tunic is Administrative Kapitaenleutnant of the Torpedo technical service branch .
..and a close-up of the belt.
..and close-up of the pin-on eagle .
..and close-up of the shoulder board.
..and close-up of the stitching on the collar.
..and a name tag inside the collar back .
.. and details of some of the interior .
..and a backside view .
..and one more frontal view for your enjoyment !
..And now a 2nd style white Navy tunic .
.and a closer view .
.and closer . This tunic is to a Kapitaen zur See with the Weimar insignia for weapons officer for artillery .
..and a close-up of the shoulder board .
Sorry about the rank :it is Fregattenkapitaen ! Close-up of the pin-on eagle .
..and a close-up even closer !.
..and most important : a black ink cancel of the manufacturer in Hamburg.
..and one more nice view of the tunic .
That KM Summer tunic is completely amazing! I dont know of I would classify it as a waffenroch though.
Paul: I don't want to correct you , but "Waffenrock " in German means " weapons coat " ;-- so any military service tunic falls under that and the question is the finish of the tunic in grade from 'field tunic ' to going out ' to 'dress and parade' tunic .
Here now a tunic you might like better , my Navy tunic of Kapitaenleutnant Hellmut Kurrer , the Kapitaen of U-189.
Hellmut Kurrer, born 2-16-1916 , died when his U-189 was sunk by bombs from RAF Sq.120 on 4-23-43 while attacking Convoy #234 at the southtip of Greenland. He had served on Topedoboat T-6 and as 1st Officer on U-128 .
The dress belt was also his and the decorations are per his award documents , except for the Knightscross added by me .
.and a close-up of cord and eagle .
Close-up of the eagle .
..and belt buckle .
Your uniform collection is simply breath taking! I look forward to seeing what you post next!
Hello All,
AMAZING collection my friend !!!
Sebastien.
GREAT AND INFORMATIVE THREAD! Thanks bernd!
Thanksfor your kind remarks . Here now a tropical Navy tunic .
..and a side view.
...and a close-up.
..and a close-up of the eagle.
..and inside manufacturer's markings .
..and interesting air venting holes under the armpit !
..and on the inside these air holes go through the white linen liner and the strap going down for the metal belt ramps .
This shows the extent of the interior white linen liner .
AND here now a green Navy Administrative Officer's tunic in green corduroy type material . I think this is a Navy Coastal Artillery Officer's tunic .
..and a side view again .
..and close-up of the eagle .
..and close-up of the shoulder board.
This artillery battery #1 came with the tunic .
..and it is a screw -back .
There is no interior liner , just some reinforcement at the sleeve joints .
Reinforcement stitching at the collar .
Here now my HEER Chaplain Tunic . Former owner served in WWI .
..And a close-up.
.and close up of the collar tab . Tunic never had provision for any shoulder boards , which is correct .
..and close-up of the bullion breast eagle .
The WWI Iron Cross and the Black Wound Badge are both srew-backs and there are inside pockets on the interior of the tunic liner for their srew-back disks !The Iron Cross has skratched into it's back surface " Weihnachten 1917" , which means Christmas 1917 .
..and the other collar tab .I love that color ! The Eagle Spange 1st Class is hmkd. 'L/11'.

I'm guessing by the stamps inside, it is a M/38? Thanks and Cheers, Pauli
Hi,
that is a beautiful waffenrock. How did your uncle get it? You do know that the eagle is replaced though?
Hello&Thanks Paul! My wife's dad traded a gun/? for this tunic years ago. I didn't realize the eagle had been replaced. I'll let him know. Any 411 on the particular branch or rank associated with this tunic? (I 'm guessing the boards represent the 3rd Battalion/118th Division or along those lines.) Thanks, Pauli
Pauli, tunic is an older model with white piping for infantry, in this case the 3rd company of the 118th infantry regiment..Germans never designated their tunics M-**, this is modern collector nomenclature to distinguish the various models..
I believe the M stands for a depot issued tunic at Munich 1938?
The breast adler has been replaced at some point with an officer quality hand embroidered eagle..you can see the shadow of the original one above and to the left of the current bird..
Mann, very nice waffenrock. The only other bit of info I can add is that the rank is Unterfeldwebel. Kursk is correct on the "M 38".
I'll contribute... new member here BTW! My father brought this (and much more) home from WWII. Very motheaten. Signals reservist?

This is a great thread with loads of wonderful examples.
I would like to keep it going with a few of mine...
First is a Wehrmacht parade uniform.
Next is a Pioneer tunic.
Now for a complete Luftwaffe aircraft tech.
Lastly, for now, a U-boat engineer.
Hope you all enjoy and please keep this thread going.

Amazing and stunning collection ffmarko!
That is one beautiful set, Steve!(and everyone else!)
Marker227...
Very nice set and I love the case!
Thank you. I love it too
.
I picked it up from a "Big Lots' when a member here told me it was possible to get good deals on curio cases there.
That is a great case!..what would that run you?
I wonder if we can get those in Canada?
It was the only model left and it was the Floor Model. It was missing a few screws so I got $10/15 off. $165-180 with tax. Came with 4 or 5 glass shelves. The bottom portion has a mirror for backing. There is a light fixture that hangs down from the top directly over the visor. I took it out though.
I was very pleased with the price. I had high doubts I was going to be paying less than $300 for the type of case I wanted.
I think it's beautiful and I don't think it would of came out the way I wanted it to if I tried to make it myself.
Hi, here is my recent acquisition. It has Wachbatalion Shoulderstraps and a großdeutschland cufftitle. Personally I've never seen any with GD cufftitle, could this have been done recently? The price was rathher low, so i doubt the seller did it to boost his income.
I'd appreciate any comments on this waffenrock.
Bye, Jerek

Thia Saturday at the Kansas City Gun Show I had the great luck to find this mint condition Waffenrock and pants . The tunic and pants have the same unit ink markings : " St.II./A.R.63 ". The tunic has also ' M 36 ' and the pants have also " Lago-M 6 ' and ' M 34 ' , which stands for Munich 1934 and 1936 .
The gary wool pants have the red stripe down the side of each pant leg , steel buttons for suspenders , 4 button front fly closure and watch packet . Tunic hollow back buttons are hmkd ' MOTZ'. The shooting cord with 2 art. shells came with the tunic .
..and a close-up .
..and the collar tab .
..and one side view .
My recently acquired Pioneer Leutnant.
Could you guys tell me who the best dealers are on Waffenrocks? I am looking to get one -would like to get one tailor labeled and named (not asking to much hey?)And what would ball park market value be on say an infantry? Thanks
There are many good dealers who have excellent items on hand, but the following have the largest selections...
http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Galleries/Uniforms.htmlHere
http://www.therupturedduck.com/WebPages/Uniforms/uniforms.htmand here... (There is a really nice one for Wehrmacht Parade-Waffenrock füreinen Unteroffizier der Aufklärungs-Abteilung Nr. 7)
https://www.weitze.net/
Another good option (cheaper but care needed)is through auction. There are several in Germany every year (Stauffer, Hermann-Historica, Landshutter Rustkammer, Andreas Thies) and I have bought several from them.
Also Manions in the States turns up good things from time to time.
PaulR -thank you-Will keep looking till I find one I like as I said I want to get an infantry tailor labeled and named.
An Administration Junior officer Waffenrock.
...collar tabs.
...and a Panzer Officers.
Now that is nice!!! I love that Panzer tunic!
Thanks Paul...I've been waiting a while to get a nice one!
