Another item that I recently acquired from my recent Pacific campaign veteran buy is this absolutely magnificent Kimono.

Enjoy.

John, frame that on some black velvet and you'll have a wonderful piece of artwork to hang!

John,
Hopefully you can find one of those black velvet Elvis paintings to cover. Wink

I saw these a lot in upscale stores in Japan. The hangers are probably relatively common.

I was told that when A very high class kimono needs cleaning, it is taken apart and the panels are cleaned individually.

Is anyone acquainted or familar with a way to frame for wall hanging these Komona's? Preferably, under plexiglass or?

Geoff, did your posting evoke any responses?

Dave, by your posting about a 'hanging' devise do you mean a temporary stand like a suit stand while readying to dress?

Thanks,

John

John,I as of yet, have received no comment about the methods of hanging, or display stands for Kimono. The few I have seen displayed have been mounted with the neck area and shoulders on an equal level. In other words, unlike western garment hanging methods, the Kimono were displayed on hangers reminiscent of the letter "T".Perhaps someone can shed some light on this topic.
