Dear friends,

Mei translation.

My opinion (opinion only) is:
We have 7 characters.
The characters are not equal in size ( 4+3).
First four characters (they are of the same width): HOSHU TAKADA (Takada from Hoshu region)
7 characters: HOSHU TAKADA JU FUJIWARA - Fujiwara (name) from Takada (place) of Hoshu (region) or if FUJIWARA is a title there is no name in the mei.
My opinion : 4 characters are right.
7 characters are not right. The tang was shortened.

Please advise Your opinion.

Thank You.

THE VILLAGE OF TAKATA IN BUNGO PROVINCE WAS A LARGE SWORD MAKING CENTER FROM THE EARLIEST DAYS. THE MAJORITY OF THE SMITHS WHO WORKED IN THIS SCHOOL IN THE EDO PERIOD USED THE SURNAME FUJIWARA. THE NAKAGO HAS BEEN SHORTENED AND NICELY RESHAPED..

Dear friends,
What do You think about the fact, that the characters are not equal in size.
The last 3 characters were added?
Please advise Your opinion.
