Heres a small boxed Miniature SS dagger,DRGM marked, Stan
Wooow!!! Nice!!!
I know that these pins are accepted as original, but they are very rare!
I have never seen the box, is this known to go with this pin?
The size certainly seems correct.
In any case, nice case!
Nice pin!
Congrats!!!
Johnny
Hi Johnny V, the box seems to be made for the dagger,as the dagger will only fit one way under the two threads in the box. What left of the gilded circle on top of the box has been a circle of what looks like oak leaves,Regards Stan
That is very cool!
I have never seen one with the original box!
Congrats!
Sorry but those are old repros. Sold in the 60's for about 5-$7
I agree with Houston.
Neat little pieces, collectible in their own right perhaps, but not TR era.
D.R.G.M. ,. A spurious marking..
I agree,,very old fantasy piece. There was also a SA one if I remember right...
Andy was having a snooze and his wife just woke him up.
LOL, I'm here dave, just monitoring from afar as I prepare for the SOS. Glad to see the weather is cooperating this year. BTW, for those who didn't recieve or read the OMVS news letter, future SOSs will be the first week end of March. Good news weather wise, unfortunately we'll no longer share the weekend with the Gun Show. As for the SS stickpin, they are as stated post war. I was trying to locate the ones I had, but I guess I gave them away years ago. Maybe Houston or someone may remember, weren't there also SA stickpins (same size and construction)circulating?
I also have 2 SS ones maker marked Hoffstatter-Bonn and the SA one just has this on it, T.L.O.23/R.R./E.S.,
Regards Stan
All fake-never existed in the Third Reich era.
Wow, great info.!
Thank you!
I thought I heard these were "good".
Live and learn
Thanks,
Johnny
I owned one of the SS pins back in the mid-late 70s. Bought it out of some catalog and probably only paid about the, before mentioned, $7.00 or so. I wore it on a cap and it really was a "door-opener" for me. I delivered domestic fuel oil(my family owned a small local business) and collectors would notice it we would start a dialogue about collecting. I even got some interesting "real" blades because of that pin. Unfortunately, I lost the cap and the pin went with t. It WAS nicely made...But not original 3R ! Peace,Mark
