I thought I would share some pictures of my mini's...enjoy.
This is my favorite.
I absolutely love the dark orange grip.
Are there maker marks on any of them?
Jim
Stunning!!! Thanks for showing Pitbull63
I have a question? How many of the pictured Miniatures do you consider Third Reich produced????
Gailen
IMO 3 2 army 1 Luft BUT all very nice to display with a full size
Spot on Ed! ......I agree with the 3...but all are nice. Thanks for sharing, cheers, Ryan
IMO The small engraved navy is also real.
Gailen
The navy may well be legit, but I think the engraving is suspect given the high profile name (see below). Just a n opinion, but I would expect to see him "honored" on a more elaborate emample; i.e. an Alcoso. Thanks for showing the grouping!
Lieutenant Commander Gnther Prien (16 January 1908 presumed 7 March 1941) was a German U-boat ace of the first part of the Second World War, and the first U-boat commander to win the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes) and the first member of the Kriegsmarine to receive the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. It was Germany's highest military decoration at the time of its presentation to Gnther Prien. [Note 1]
Under Prien's command, the submarine U-47 sank over 30 Allied ships totaling about 200,000 gross register tons (GRT). His most famous exploit was the sinking of the British battleship HMS Royal Oak at anchor in the Home Fleet's anchorage in Scapa Flow.
These were period and maybe given out. They came in a cardboard box which had his name in gold on it. Inside the box was aninsert from the maker which told Pien's exploits and U-47. It had a picture of him on it.. I always wondered about these pieces until I got one in the box from the vet who brought it home. That did it for me.
Gailen
That sounds very reasonable to me and after Gailens comment I had the almost same though
