I've started building a guide of mini-daggers in the GDC Reference Library, starting with the 3/4 sized pieces. Comments and suggestions are appreciated wink

Think those about cover it Vern, unless you wanted to picture various mini bayonets.

It's a nice looking miniature but I believe it was produced recently. Could be a one-off from the Imperial Miniature Armory.

Vern, years back, I had one of those SS miniatures and the pic here resembles the one I had. The grip was aluminum and this one appears to have an aluminum grip as well? I don't recall the RZM number however. I got it from a dealer in Santa Monica, CA.

Yes, the one in the guide has a painted aluminum grip. There is another SS miniature with no RZM number that is made in the far east. They began appearing at shows back in the 1980s but have a plastic grip.

Vern, yes, painted black and I got mine in...I think the early 1970's maybe late 1960's. I don't recall the dealers name BUT I got a "Naval Assault Forces" dagger at the same time for $100. I was thrilled. It was the exact same as in Atwood's book which I had with me. No maker, just SOLINGEN on the tang. That piece turned out to be bogus so I have my doubts on the SS mini as well.

Yes, some dealers like them, many do not wink Horster made a run of the Puma type daggers in the 1970s but they have the wrong type of release button and either plain or Horster marked blades. Still, they were nice pieces.

It was indeed a nice piece Vern BUT when a dealer in repros I knew very well came up with an exact duplicate, I bailed!

Currently, the guides are photos only. Descriptions and other information will be added later.

Vern:
15 or 20 years ago while at a Jackson MS gun show I handled a mini political leaders dagger roughly 6 or 8 inches long, and although I was very excited ; the $125 price was beyond my recourses and ended all my interest in it at that time.
I have never seen or heard of one since! You?
Thanks

There is an SS (RZM 807) in the Miniature Dagger Id Guide and I posted a photo of an SA miniature I have in this forum. I have seen others but they were usually repros (plastic grips, white metal castings, etc.). There is an ongoing controversy as to originality of miniature political daggers wink

Vern:
Sorry for the confusion I meant to say "Government Official Dagger" not political dagger!
I’m still Curious!
Thanks
John

Never seen an original GO miniature. Reddick made some kits years ago that were around 6" when assembled.

ah! ha! Yes plus others, like the TENO leader maybe?
That long forgotten info had given me relief once before regarding the MISSED Mini GO... Senior moments I guess!
Thanks Vern

Yes and a neat HJ Leader as I remember. I did pick up an SS dagger kit but didn't assemble it as all the parts were injection cast of white metal including the blade wink If I can dig it up, I'll post a photo.

Here is a photo of the Reddick kit.
