Here is the latest addition to the family. I picked up this Eickhorn Luftwaffe sword last weekend. It is my first Eickhorn Luft sword and I like it. I prefer the early nickel silver over the aluminum lufts as my own personal preference, nothing against the aluminum ones, I have two of them, I just like how the nickel silver looks when nobody messes with them for about 60,70 years.

Your Eick sword almost made me reconsider my no swords policy.

And, I agree with you, the nickle silver is so much more attractive than the aluminium ones.

Hi, Let me first ssay, GREAT SWORD!!!! Makes me miss mine even more. 2nd, just a little story about the "aged"look of the silver. When I was a "new to the game" collector, some 40 years ago, I cleaned everything in my collection. I used Happich semi chrome which was recommended by a very notable professional. I also made storage bag from felt that I bought at ther local sewing supply store. Well, after polishing my daggers and swords, I put them in the storage bags and left them in a dark closet for a few weeks. When I went back to "play" with them, ALL the silver parts-Luft, DLV, SS, SA, Gov't Official, etc., were BLACK. A BEAUTIFUL-EVEN patina. Of course, being the knucklehead that I was, I repolished them. Sold that collection not long after. So, if you have an older dagger, in older cond., try it. use that cream then wrap it in felt and leave it alone in a dark place for a while & see what happens. GOOD Hunting. Peace, Mark
