I have seen this only on very nice imperial swords.. One book on swords of Austria has this mark as a smith mark..(but I'm not sure if that is correct) Regards: James (is the sword damascus??)

James

Yes it's a damascus sword with a triple engraved blade w/gold wash. There is a name on the blade. The etched blade has some gold filling and will get more info later.

I have a little more info on the sword.

In the engraved area it has

Eisenhuer Damast-Stahl

Also in the engraving it has the following losely translated

Honor Prize for Outstanding Shooting 1893 Second Lt. Sigor from Inf. Reg 143

It also has the Wilhelm II cypher on the grip and in the engraving

I've seen this distributor on many WK&c/WKC edged weapons, I believe I have a similar mark on a deluxe hirschfnger that is also unmarked and without a distributor mark as well.

Terry,

I've seen this mark on a fire official's dagger although it was stamped into the blade rather than etched on the spine. The piece was likely made by WKC as Gary mentioned. Are you branching out into swords now? Eek
