I just bought this rare sword and I just cant wait to share my find with you all. I found one just like mine on Tom Wittmanns site,he sure has some great stuff.
I see that Tom Wittmann has one very similar, on his website. It is 023 on his sword list. Thats how I found out what I had (thanks Tom) He states that most were not brass and he has photos of the sword and it has brass or gold wires. Well, I will be posting pictures in a few days and the sword I have is identical to toms but the wires are silver. This picture is the one that Tom shows with brass wire.AND HE FEELS THESE ARE ONE OF THE RAREST OF THIS STYLE SWORD. I WILL POST A LOT OF PICTURES ON 2/9/06
Hope you all enjoy my latest find AS MUCH AS I AM(:.
And any comments will be appreciated

Indeed , this is a very nice sword . Are the metal in cast bronce ?
Yes, all is cast brass or bronze and there is a lot of hand work on the cast handle and on the head. the only markings are the letters WMW Faffen, marked on the blade under the langest
The ferrule is certainly unique. A great find. Thanks for posting the pics!
Congratulations, Walter, you have a very nice brass WMW model nr.425.
