LUXUS-GESCHENKHIRSCHFANGER This post has 3 deluxe presentation hunting hangers - Cologne, circa 1900/1910.
The first piece is outlined in HERMANNS HISTORICA as follows:
A single edged blade with a double-edged point. The upper two-thirds covered with etched and gilded decoration. An inscription scroll on the obverse side bearing the dedication �Der Jagdschutz-Verein der Rheiprovinz dem Revierjager Wilh. Storb in Rheindassenm� (from the Rhine Province Game Protective Association to Game Keeper Wilth. Storb in Rheindassen).� The opposite side depicts wild game. The back of the blade bears the maker�s inscription, �Kettner Koln a/Rhein.� Sculpted gilded brass shell guard, quillons, and knuckle-bow. Staghorn grip with a guard star onlay on the obverse side between two acorns. Pommel shaped as an acorn. Black leather scabbard with gilded brass mountings Length 56cm. 95636.
The other two blades are following the same pattern style with one having an etched blade skinning knife and etched inscription on the reverse of the scabbard 10 Mai 1891.
I hope the blades and photographs tell the story that I could not have described without the text from the Herrmann�s Catalogue.
