WW1 "lightbulb"marks,any thoughts??? - 10/03/2008 11:39 AM
Hello All,
As a "newbie"to the forum I've no idea if this topic has come up before, but are there any thoughts on what I believe are called lightbulb marks?I have a sawback S14 bayonet with one of these marks containing a script g followed by SM.These marks are mentioned in John Walters bayonet book as appearing on the S15 Gottscho bayonet and what they meant at that time was unknown.I'm wondering if anything has come to light in the 30odd years since, and whether these marks are often seen on the S14, most of which seem to have Samsonwerk on them.
Chris.
