Greetings, I do my best to find items out of the woodwork. I run ads etc. There have been many nice suprises over the years and I never know what to expect day to day. I visited this eldery woman today and was quite stunned. These are pictures of HER bayonet collection. She stopped collecting about 10 years ago. She had many referance books and nearly all of the bayonets had faded info on the tags. I couldnt get much out of her as to why she happened to collect one of the more manly aspects of militaria. She wants to part with all of the bayonets and probably the books also. I was pleased to make her aquaintance. Quite a variety and all available. How about that,an eldery woman bayonet collector. Best, Bill Bourque

Would she happen to have any issued Jagers, KS98's or S98/02's hidden in the closet?
Nice collection.

That lady decorates like a guy, how cool! I agree with Dow, where's the KS98s or Polizei pieces? Smile

Did you buy the collection??

Hello, she told me that in the past she had sold off some of the dress examples. There were a few swords as well but she wanted to "get my walls back" and for now wishes to part with all of the bayonets. No I didnt buy the collection, its quite abit out of my range and expertise. Alot of these seemed to have a generalized light extrior rusting due to their presence for so many years.

HS,

You know if she was 40 years younger I would say that she would be a flea market partner from the word go, and lets get married the day after. I got such a kick looking at this thread and looking at what she had. It made my day, thanks so much for posting the pics. Wish her well from me and my girlfriend, we all share similar interests.

Steve.

Hello, she would like about $65 per bayonet overall, roughtly 275+ bayonets. A remarkable collection that predates the internet. Best, Bill

This is a great thread. It makes me proud to see that a woman is also collecting these beauties. She has a respectable collection there. It would have been interesting to see her collection prior to her parting with some of the pieces.
