No not how I like my steak but a bayo I pulled out of Germany a while back. As the pic's show its not in the best of condition but it is very rare. John Z I believe you have the 'not left in the shed' version :-)

also any thoughts on how to clean?

This one really does look like a "barn find" in this condition. I don't think cleaning it would help much since it has plating and paint loss and pitting. I would leave it as is. I have an uncleaned enlisted man's P guard sword that has lots of patina and wear but has a killer etched blade. I like to tell people who see it that it reminds me to always pull the plain-Jane swords out of the scabbard before walking by.

We all know what these Extrawaffen look like when they are bright and shiny. This could be your uncleaned example to show what they sometimes look like when found.

Just a thought.
