Ivan,
Some might be concerned that this bayonet is a Pack & not Weyersberg or Alcoso. I've never seen a Pack DRP although we all know that has no bearing on originality.
On first glance, the letter font appears quite similar to the examples I've seen & have in my files. My concern is with the dots after the letters. There's something else I thought of but will share that with you via email since I don't want to share ideas with those who might seek to deceive.
I agree with Billy in his concern for the markings. They are not consistent with Postal markings that I have seen. They seem to have copied the "D.R.P." stamp on the metal backed frog. These markings on the frog indicate a Deutsches Reich Patent and not the Postschutz. I would say that the markings have been added to an original Pack bayonet recently. It is a shame the faker ruined an otherwise collectable KS98 with distributor markings.
same opinion, DRP bayonets were obtained by factory, so probably no way there was a distributor stamp.b.r.Andy
Thank you guys,I'm going to send back to the seller.
I appreciate your help and knowledge.
Regards
I think I seen this one at the SOS
I would agree with the above, Andy also makes a good point.
There is also something missing that are seen on these and its not on this one.
