Nice complete rig. Rarely see the Garantie Solingen with distributor. That said I have one like yours.
I didn't see the marks combination on a long dress bayo before(sorry, I'm beginner) so, thanks for your sharing!
Kramer is a not often seen distributor, nice looking full rig.
Looks like you got a real nice blade. As far as I know their were two variants of this mark. I have one like yours also on a firemen bayo. The other(shown) is on a Heer bayonet.
I must warn you that this hobby is addicting.
Kopterus,
Thank you for your kind words. That's a very nice Eickhorn, I've always particularly appreciated the dual marked examples myself. OK so the marks are kinda common, when they're beautifully conditioned like this, it's always a pleasure to behold. I have several frogs like that with the same shape & stitching. I suspect it's probably a manufacturer's variant.
Terry,
I have both marks on fire bayonets & have never seen the Ziegler mark on anything but a fire bayonet. Can you post your Heer example?
Interestingly, the Ziegler mark not shown by Kopterus is usually seen stamped or etched in the direction of the blade & not perpendicular to it.
Yes these do become addictive, one becomes ten then twenty and so on
I have the same distributor on a short Eick FW but not near as nice.
Thanks for showing.
Steve,
Billy
You were right mine is a Fireman and not a Heer. Me bad.
Thanks for sharing that Terry. I definitely think Ziegler was one of those distributors that only dealt in Feuerwehr ephemera like a number of others we've seen.
Don't know why but I saw this kind of frog just on fireman bayos and bayonet knot was tied thru the belt loop. Like this
In my experience with buying fireman bayonets, I've seen knots tied in any manner of ways including the style you show in your picture. I believe that tie is more appropriate for a military knot rather than civil like the Feuerwehr or Polizei which were slightly different. It doesn't matter since that's a beautiful example of patent leather dress frog & wonderfully conditioned fire knot. Thank you for showing them!
