I just got a photo of a bayonet with a distributor etched spin. I have a couple, so I thought I would start a thread on them.

Here is the first---the TM is Alcoso w/distributor William Gunther, Dresden etched on the blade spine.

Here is the second Alcoso with the same distributor but with the name in a frosted back ground. The frog on this one has the distributors initials stamped on the back.

Found another, this is a short blade w/o TM. It has the distributor Horst Wolff, G.M.B.H. Leipizg on the spine

Terry,

I only have one spine marked bayonet, a long model fire bayonet with the distributor Horst Wolff, Leipzig. Like yours, it is unmarked by maker but is an Eickhorn product. Yours also appears to be an Eick.

Horst Wolff is one of the more commonly seen distributors for fire bayonets, probably the most often seen distributor. From what I have observed, they only marked fire bayonets & I have never seen a makers mark on a Wolff marked bayonet. Thus far anyway.

Here is my spine marked Eichorn.

Otto Bromer distributor, stag grips and L&E frog.
