You appear to have an early private purchase S84/98. I cannot make out the maker marking on the ricasso of the blade. Who is the maker?

Thanks for the additional pictures. Your bayonet now appears to be a Seitengewehr 14, Type I made by Samson Werk in Suhl. Samson also supplied Walther & Co. blade blanks to make some odd variations of the early S84/98 but yours now appears to be a S14. The etching for the Artillery Depot appears to have been added but may well be original to the time period as light etching of this type is known.
Thank you very much for your reply! regards
