Hi guys - i have tried googling and looking through various posts but haven't so far found anything...could i ask for assistance on this one please?

Never seen this one before. The strap looks like that of an SS bayonet knot & for some reason, the bulb looks like it's from an Army knot. Maybe George W. can chime in.

The knot does look a bit odd. Normally the stem is not straight but is curved and this one does not seem to be the proper shape for a Troddel. If it is a side shot of a Faustriemen then it might be correct. The slider does not look correct either. More photos might help but it throws up some red flags.

Hello, this is simply a SS-TV (or VT?) enlisted knot (for bayonets and sabers) missing the proper wrapping of the stem... so the wooden core is to be seen.
As the stem is the hardest point to fake it is perhaps a fake knot missing the wrapping. But might also be period, I cannot stinguish it from these pics.
Form of the stem and the slide are correct.
