I can't tell the difference ? Confused

Hi Pat,

IMO Police frogs tend to have a more polished finish, whereas the K98 frogs are rougher in appearance usually with the more visible stitching. Police frogs IMO resemble the dress KS/98 bayonet frogs except they have the 4 rivets to help support the heavier weight of the police bayonet.

Pat,

One quick way to tell the difference is to look inside the front piece of the frog for the wear pattern. A regular S84/98 has a screw on the side of the scabbard and you will see wear in that spot. The standard police bayonet has a screw on the front of the top scabbard fitting above the frog stud and you will see wear on the frog in that spot.
