Hello,

my first thougt was : i don't like the leather stripe .

duetscher do you mean strap? Which part?
Posted By: DONS Re: SS short hanger - 11/30/2005 09:51 PM
I do not detect any embossed lines or appropriate wear on the strap or keeper. I suspect the leather is not original.

The clip and buckle are real.

The leather of the strap lacks the two embossed lines close close to the edges. The biggest think I noticed is the keeper sewn with one thread when all others I have seen are sewn with two.

Actually the leather does have the two embossed lines but they are faint. My photos are not the greatest but you can see the lines best in picture #2 just above and below the RZM marking. I agree with you about the keeper sewn with one thread.

The condition of the leather looks almost too unworn, but it may just be the angle of the pics. The lack of the two stitch thing is my main area of apprehension.

My opinion only.

I don't like the leather for the above reasons and the snap looks too thin-- and the markings on it don't look right to me either. Most of the unquestionable SS straps have the stamps inside and they are larger, and sharper.

Thanks guys. It would be great if someone had a hanger with the same contact number to compare it to. Late originals with markings are hard to find.
