Tom just put his new down in the cellar on his site. He got the usual nice things.
The last box he opened was a box that looked like it went through hell, ripped open, re taped, and wrapped with shrink wrap to keep the box together.
It was terribly packed by the shipper, and contained about six really super nice daggers, that probably will bring $50,000.00 or more.
Just something to see how this guy sent these items to Tom.

Ed,

Over the years I have heard many stories of high value daggers sent poorly packaged. Gailen David once received an impeccable SS Honor dagger loose in a USPS prepaid box.

I suppose anything can, and will, happen. You know what they say, " There's one for every seat "
Dave, your a SS guy, where does that Gorget fall in the dollar range?
That was one nice box of stuff.Ed

Ed,

No idea. I collect the daggers and all the other stuff. I expect we will find out by watching TW's inventory.

Yea, I kind of think a lot of this stuff will never make it to inventory.
I always look for some stuff to hit the for sale page, but a lot never goes up.

I'd think quite a few watch those episodes and call in orders for things they like.

Ed,
Reference the SS Gorget that was in Tom Wittmann's DTC 21, it went for $30,000. Hard to believe that it actually was still in that box.

Respects, Mike

Yes, the way that box arrived was just unbelievable.
Everything in that box was worth a huge amount, but when he looked at that gorget in that bag, you knew it was something special.
Wish I got a box like like Tom gets every now and then, or, just once.
Thanks Mike,
Ed

I find those Tom Wittmann videos very entertaining, they’re also apparently excellent marketing as well. I believe anything that assists the hobby is good for us all.

Tom and his videos are just what collectors need during covid and cold weather!

Having Tom do daggers in his collection and showing his displays are superb!

He has picked up many fine things in his yrs collecting!

Love seeing his treasures!

Never confuse that he doesn't know edge weapons!

Now all I want to see is Tom unload Daves footlocker of SS daggers! And

place them on the pool table!

That would be like King Tuts tomb find!

No matter how you feel about Tom W., his videos are being watched (just look at the numbers on Utube). IMO a great plus for the hobby and he seems to connect well with the public, so what more can you ask for in our hobby.

Yes, his video's are fun, and educational to watch. I have seen them all several times.
I have talked to Tom W at the big shows several times. He always takes the time to look at your things and give his advice.
Tom J as well, he would take all the time needed to tell you about scabbard screws, so you bought the right ones, and now knew the right ones, to sell $10 worth of screws.
And you also Ron, took The time years ago at the SOS to explain the Glider Pilot/Flyers Knife's to me, thanks again.
Not many big dealers do that at the shows.
