Not so big a holiday here anymore. But still celebrated in the Eastern bloc countries and others.. The end of the great patriotic war!.., Victory in Europe!! We had one down and one other to go,,a 'Little Boy' helped with the 2nd one!

The celebration must have been something back then!!

i remember v e day i was six years old my mother took me to bushwick ave in queens new york to watch the parade the girl in blue sweater i say this mother stab me with a sour pickle im to sweet to live this is what wars are fought for am i out of tune here for an old man like me or what god bless our greatest generation not to many of them heros left the age has caught uo to them and outhers god bless happy mothers day andy

Great photos. Yes, I love those tanks. That was my MOS in the Army, Fort Knox.
But my passion is those fighter planes. The Mustang, and the rare Lavochkin, not many photos of that plane.
But, lets not forget. It's what's up front that counts in the last two pictures.
