I read on another Forum that due to the questionable items being sold at the National Gun Show at the Louisville Expo Center last weekend, that new rules are under consideration. Seems like Nazi Christmas Tree Ornaments , KKK robes and HJ shirts ruffled a few feathers. The Expo Center is owned by the State, so just like Ebay they have the right to restrict anything they want. What a revolting development.

You could be right about that, but gun shows seem to be much less predictable as far as non-gun contents are concerned. I go to one in Raleigh regularly and you never know what will be on sale besides guns, jerky grin, and black Velcro accessories. Copies of medieval torture instruments, science fiction swords and knives, you name it.

People at militaria shows seem more controlled. They have been in the "PC spotlight" for a while.

Actually, I see Internet sales as a bigger threat to the big shows, but that is another subject.

And more Trying to shut down SOS

Todays protesters are very dedicated to protesting.
But they are really not dedicated to any real cause other than protesting.
Something like " Today we are protesting President Trump" " What are we protesting next week? Not sure yet"
By next years Max show, the hype will be a lot less. By this years SOS in February, they will be on another journey.
I'm 70 years old, only attended 1 protest in my life. The May day rally in DC 1971.
I was one of the ones with a M14.
Just my opinion, and NOT a political statement or agenda.

I think it will be fine eventually and things will be as they always were.

I do think though that the promoters need to do more 'promoting',,,and not just for attendance. . They need to convey that we're not a bunch of neo nazis.. That these are war booty/trophies, most of it,, from the victors that fought fascism! And, some from German , European families that have sold the items to collectors.

Maybe a display room or area just for all the Allied forces that changes every year.. They need to do a little more IF they want the show to continue...

So from what I know, there is a meeting today to talk about the current events.
Bill Combs and Brian Coats will be at the meeting to try to settle the situation with Expo center staff.
OVMS states the Expo center wants to stop Repo items, but NOT original war items. That could be a good thing. BUT the fair board has the last word and final vote outcome.
Not sure when the fair board will vote on it.
All we can do is hope.

Reproductions.. Like Riddicks etc. [and some dealers wink ]

Good idea... But they should really be pushing harder and not just hoping. Offer something ,,like the Allied display, - or maybe separate rooms/areas [for the dealers majority of items], Allied and Axis [?] .. If they want they got to try harder... Those opposing , wanting to close us down,,they spare no expense. They march, they contact news stations, they write letters, etc.

Hope their hoping works out for us!

All those ideas are great ones. But those would have to be made by the ones putting on the SOS.
I guess the fair board thinks the large amount of repo 3rd items is some sort of glorifying it.
Yes, you can recreate the civil war, just not with that EVIL flag that hurts some peoples feelings.
Like I always said, this all started when we as a society stopped spanking our kids, and started this stupid "Time-Out" thing. All down hill from there.
People reap what they sow.
