Unfortunately, emotions triumphed over intellect.

And, the most likely response from the key members of the EU will also be emotional. So, I think that the UK is hooped economically and will face its own series of referenda to leave their union (Scotland and Northern Ireland have already indicated that they are considering it).

The end result will be a much diminished and not-so-Great Britain.

As their economy tanks and the pound weakens, there will likely be militaria buying opportunities in the short and medium term.

Just my opinion, of course.

Britain has been "not so great" since the mid 1940's, no slander intended.
They exhausted themselves in 2 world wars, lost their empire and have been steadily receding from the worlds stage every since.

Don't think taking marching orders from unelected technocrats from Brussels and having their island borders flooded by 100,000's of muslims/Africans every year is in their long term best interests, so I congratulate them on [nominally at least] regaining some measure of sovereignty - And hope we do much the same here in the USA.

The globalist powers that be will naturally try to punish them best their able, but they'll be shooting themselves in the can while shooting England in the foot. "EU" from day 1 was a contrived conglomeration of conflicting interest, loyalties not to mention languages, histories and cultures, I personally don't think it was meant to last the test of time.
Failure to even nominally control their borders against the 3rd world flood was probably the prime reason Remain lost, and will seal "EU's" doom if not contained.

how it will relate to militaria ect, when world economies start to tank its a good time to buy, things will stabilize in short order, I wouldn't expect it to have much of an effect at all, certainly not long term.

The effects we are seeing now are basically politically motivated. All newscasters yesterday were talking about the $600 decline in the Dow. Only a handful mentioned that most of that was a run up to the election. The real market reduction for the week was about $150 which is no big thing.

Most Americans understand this was about control. Do we allow the UN with all appointed members to dictate to the US what our laws are and who enter our borders? This is the decision that the Brits had to make. Their decision was for democracy.

I will be interested to see if there is any real fall out to the US or British economies. We will not know until all the fear mongering from the EU and President are finished.

Also look for other countries to bale out.

A short term buying opportunity because of the immediate fall in the £GBP against other currencies.
The great unwashed have revolted against the political class and the liberal elites who don't have to suffer the adverse consequences of mass third world immigration.

As a Scottish person living and working just inside England, I'm ultra happy we are out, no more Roma and So called refugees within the next few years hopefully, although the damage has been done, albeit if that cow Sturgeon has her way, they'll simply stealth in via Scotland..

My buddies in Poland said,,for years Poland wanted in! There are many requirements etc. to get in the EU. So they finally get in,,but they didn't like the exchange from their old money to the Euro! Most were still using the Zloty instead of the euro after they were in for years!
SO Poland is in,,but I think that they too now wish they weren't. Yes, maybe more will leave.

The markets bet the wrong way is all. In the week before Brexit stocks and the pound soared in expectation of a Remain win. It will sort itself out. Meanwhile a window of opportunity to buy collectables from the UK, perhaps?

I doubt if Brexit will have any real affect on the hobby. The initial decline of the Euro from the 130's to 108 is still beating up the European buyers. The new cold war with Russia seriously has reduced Russian Federation citizens buying. So a temporary swing of the pound should do little. Other than that, the US Post Office and the British Post office will continue to do business as will all the banks.

So Brits and all of us can continue to buy and sell.
