Looking for all relevant info & items on WW2 German U-boats in Singapore and Asia for my research.

Interesting topic, I've little or no knowledge in this area...great research!
I've seen this happening before... Especially in the Huertgenwald cemetery... I've always wondered why a person would like to have a grave marker in his house?

Very disrespectful towards the fallen soldier!
Put him at the same level as the grave robbers working old battlefields.
I agree with you 100% Paul! It's pretty sad that ppl try to make a buck by robbing (war)graves. I've seen many sites from Latvia and Russia where they sell relics from the battlefields... There is one particular page in FB that is called "Ghosts of the Eastern Front"... horrible site with pictures of dead German soldiers... pure grave robbing business... I tried to report it to FB but they haven't taken it down. Very sad.
yeah that's terrible.. I've seen it here in the states. Saw a guy that was selling a CSA grave marker! It was at a SOS years ago. I reported him and didn't see it at his table the next day.

One thing though,,'Grave' robbing and battlefield digs are 2 very different things.. In fact in the early 90s battlefield digs closed out many a MIA case's for the German families.

Saw this page as well and reported it. Ive even faught with the admin. He says he reports the bodies that he finds, but by the way he handles them, I doubt it. One photo had a skull with a helmet and a few pics later the helmet was ripped off the skull! However there are good people who when they detect do report the bodies and they get closure
Indeed Kyle, there are some good ppl working to give these soldiers a proper burial. For example the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgraeberfuersorge are doing a great job by maintaining German cemeteries plus they work with some Russian guys on the old battle fields of the Eastern Front to make sure that the found bodies get a proper burial and that the family are being notified. But even the Voksbund deal with grave robbers on sites while they're exhuming bodies from the battlefields... Sometimes they need local protection against these criminals!
