We get requests for larger image size, but this make it difficult for those who use dial up connections and look at us via modems.

I'd like to hear from members on this, particularly if you use a modem.

I have new camera and it is a pain to resize pictures to fit the requirements of this website and when I do resize they are to small.

Dave,
Do you get detailed stats access for this site?. On Google analytics you get a breakdown of viewers connections speeds but I am not sure if this is possible with the Live Cloud software. My site averages around 100 out of every 3000 visitors, a very small percentage nowadays.
In my opinion raising the hosting limit would reduce the amount of images being hosted externally and improve the longevity of threads.
Apologies to anyone who IS still on dial-up, but the 1980's are long gone in my humble opinion!.

Man o man the 80s are gone unless you live in the by and by like we do. I cant even get DSL; no one will bring anything! Im VERY lucky that peoplepc.com gives me a local number, and couple that with unlimited local calling plan I can stay on dialup all day for about $2. Im retired and CAN wait for the downloads! I have done around 80-100 meg downloads in around 10 or 12 hours!?!?!? When Mrs. Blair and I travel we take the lap top for the wi-fi at the hotels and coffee shops and get all our updates and just youtube it UP. So is the life of the sticks in Mississippi

To answer, no we cannot get those statistics so we cannot see viewer connections Frown

Blair is exactly why I asked the question. Not everyone can access the higher speed Internet services. Until I switched, I had a second phone line for dial up and it was sloooooooowwwww.

In the meantime 100KB has allowed almost every seller to post good pictures.

Is there a way to have a "lo-fi" version of the site for dial up users, then they can then choose to download a pic if needed?

Sometimes where I search on google I get these kind of versions of other forums. But then it has the ability to "see original content"

While I do feel for the dial up folks, the world is quickly moving forward. I finally had to cut cord on the dial up at my shop as it was virtually useless.
