Hi I have been told that Chuck Scaglione was admitted to hospital last week. Does anyone have an update or know of his condition? Chuck is a standup guy and one of the BEST in the hobby.I would like to forward my best wishes to Chuck for a full and speedy recovery.... Thanks and regards, Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Chuck had a man problem which resulted in hospitalization for radical surgery. Initially all seemed well but after being home for a week he had post operative complications and returned for corrective surgery.

He's now again on the mend and on the path to recovery and all is seemingly going well. He's now taking it easy and looking for a deal.....

Your assessment of Chuck is certainly 'right on' One of the best granddaddies in the hobby.

Thanks for the update John...if you are talking with him please extend my best wishes..Chuck sold me my first authentic SS dagger many years ago in Buffalo....thanks and cheers, Ryan

SOLD AN SS DAGGER TO YOU????

The Louse was instructed to only sell them to me!!!!!

I talked with him this morning and relayed your concerns. He is resting very comfortably at his daughter's house with his four grand kids and being treated like a king. Says that he's just laying there, enjoying the attention and love and watching foot ball all day. He sounds good, on the mend and looking forward to Louisville.

Good to hear John...thanks for that...and don't worry it was many, many years ago and just a cheap P D L RZM early transitional nickle silver in unissued condition...mintiest dagger I have ever owned or seen...even the SS marked short hanger was stone mint as was paint and handle (not a nick or blemish and as black as could be) and blade....blade was covered with 60 years of hardened grease...wish that I still had it...worth a small fortune now....

Does anyone know the attorney handling Chuck's estate I would like to be the first in the door? He had some great stuff. I would use part of the money from the sale of his stuff to cast a bronze statue of him and display it at the Max Show. Can some one please send me the name of their family attorney. Thanks guys.

I have known Chuck for many years. He is one of the best in the hobby, always a hello and how are you. Not like some of the dealers who have made it big, and only know you when you had something to sell them.
Hope Chuck has a speedy recovery.
thanks
Bob

That post was disgusting post that I have ever read and the remitter should be questioned and considered to be banned.

I am in regular contact with Chuck and yes he did have a male problem and corrective surgery and thereafter incurred some minor complications. As I posted earlier, he was and is on the path to a complete recovery and wellness. He is doing as well as one of us 'older' guys and he called me from the Mohawk Arms auction last week. I also received a Christmas card from him yesterday so thankfully, he is well and ALIVE!

Just a terrible and if a real post, the most outrageously disgusting and caustic posting that I've ever witnessed.

We have a forum called humour for the posting of items considered funny.Although far from a "prude" and enjoying a laugh as well as the next guy I consider your post to be offensive in so many ways. First and foremost is the comment that Chuck had passed on.....if someone did not "get" your humour than this posted comment could cause a great deal of concern when initially viewed...I don't think Chuck would give a damn about your post but that is far from the point...you also had an opportunity to offer an apology and yet you did not....you attempted to explain your comment off as being good natured and all in fun....

whats disgusting is a grown adult man like yourself who discusses some ones private medical issiues on the internet. You should should look at yourself before you judge others.

bye bye guys I am done with this website, Some of you people are so fake it is disgusting. Have fun with your Nazi stuff. You should buy a history book by the way and read about what the owners of the stuff you collect did to people.Maybe you should be the one to apologize.

I was very upset when I read about Chuck's passing. I am certainly glad he is still with us. This was not funny.

Bye Bye Warren, I can confirm that!

What a turkey. He uses "[email protected]" and "[email protected]"

He seems to be from Rochester, New York if that rings any bells

He joined up just to be a goofball and when called on it, showed his true colours in that he doesn't think very much of what we collect or the people who collect it.

I tire easily of hearing hoary old cliches, don't you?

what an insensitive idiot Good riddance !

What an ASS!

You really wonder what motivates people who do this. I would not think that the person just stumbled on GDC and decided to sign up and and be a dork. It was a conscious action to say something insensitive and then wait for the predictable reaction to give us a poke.

I'd guess there is some underlying reason that would prompt such behavior. In the 10+ years we have been here, we've had 2-3 a year pull stunts like this.

Such is the Internet. s Vern says, the Internet is a great because there is a place for everyone. I can add that his place is NOT here laugh laugh
