Hi all,

I have a Eickhorn made Mameluke pattern sword.Only marked with Eickhorn(Trademark used till 1936)
According regulations of the US/UK/ i think its made as a special order/Export for a other country.
The cross hilt has a floral design and the grips are made from Trolon.but has some USMC pattern hardware like the star rosettes
I know its hard to give a Identification i think but let give it a try.
Opinions are welcome and thank you

This looks almost identical to my marine corps officers sword with the exception of the diddling on the crossguard. Is there no etch on the place and why would you think this is anything but a marine corps sword?
Thank you for your reply,

With Diddling you mean forgery or misleading? because i think its a legit/period engraving. Because of this is not allowed and the missing etching/fullers on the blade they told me its not a USMC sword
Eickhorn send them complete with etching and plain Cross-guard as there is no evidence they send them unfinished
I made no indication that this was done after market. I am simply not concerned with it. The only two militaries where I have seen these swords are British General Officers and US Marines. That is the basis of my observation. This one does not resemble the British.
