It is my opinion that this is a model 1930 Royal Air Force Cadet's dagger. The number indicates it was a garrison piece. It appears that the grip may have been repaired. The grip should be mother of pearl although there is one example with ivory. I believe yours to be genuine. I think $400 was a great price for you. As to its value. You paid $400 for it and that is its value.
Congradulations.
Thank you very much for the information.I am realy happy to get an original piece in my collection. The grip is pearl the both sides.probably on that foto did not show it.
Can you please tell me is that dagger rare?because I can?t find it on sellers
You answered your own question. If you can not find the dagger on any dealer site then it is extremely rare. It is my hope you purchased this dagger as a collectable piece of history and not because you think you can make money off it. Such a beautiful dagger for someone's collection.
of course i buy it as a collectable piece to my collection.I am really happy to get this dagger. And i do not sell it to anyone)))
I would think the dagger would sell for at least $650. One of the most rare of the Italian cadet daggers.
