The ring has a brass base. A chrome finish and has black paint on some places.

There is no seam to see.

On the backside is a kind of "zigzag" on the place of the seam....

Most period rings have a thin band behind, this one doesn't have it.

Seems really thick to me; most were pretty thin and even especially toward the rear. I defer to greater knowledge.

I agree with Mike.. Way too thick band... Its an old ring just not WW2 old....

A very popular ring pre war and well after.. We are aware of the Degner adverts with the very good line drawings of the pattern..

Here are 2 US adverts from late 60s. The line drawings are rough but it is the same pattern..... The material really isn't mentioned but the finish is. The silverline finish was put on first kind of like a sealer to keep you finger turning black. IF you ordered the gunmetal /oxidized finish it was really just black over the silverish finish..

A 'Mens' ring or 'Premium ring they do have some value and probably worth holding on to...

I have a similar pattern of ring, and have also wondered how old it is. It is a well-known pattern. It seems to be made of silver or something looking very like silver, but there is no discernible mark.

Like Benten's ring here, the band on mine is unusually thick for a ring worn during the Third Reich. It is a small ring; barely fits on my pinky.

Interested in what you guys think.
Cheers,
Stephen
