Guys,,sad to say the fastest growing in value ring is the US WW2 enamel rings...
Don't get me wrong. German rings are still king! But availability of authentic rings have been getting ridiculously hard to find the last couple years.. When that starts to happen guys either start to collect something entirely different [like daggers etc.] or look to other pieces in the same subject [like rings] but from another country and/or time period.

When buying,,,,same like in buying German rings,,,you want the best of condition. You want real silver,,,well hallmarked,,and look for the best of enamel.

Here's a great example.. Believe it or not this is on auction and the bidding or 'buy it now' is over $500.!

here's another fine example..

Weird is..although you find worn examples they are usually in much better condition that our German rings. Rarely you'll see a dug example, or even a extremely worn one. For some reason they're in pretty good condition,,which is nice to collect!.

Along with the WW2 rings,, Korea,,,which is rare to find,,and Viet Nam rings also have a very good value.. SO, if your having trouble finding authentic German rings to buy,,maybe you'd like to try U.S. ,,,or maybe not,,,[more for us!]

A 'Victory ring'.. This one strikes me a bit odd for some reason [but thats just me] but none the less a very nice US enamel. This one a 'Allied' victory ring. Has some of the Allies represented in the enamel colors as well as stamped in the ring.. This too had and went for a pretty high amount..

hi mike
good early morning to you guys mike i have to agree with you on this american victory ring to me this ring tells me a story first off it is designed in enamel with countrys flags italy/ france /begium/ england then has victory boldly on both sides i really like this ring has a great design and meaning like victory to all these countries gaspare is right guys when you buy all rings buy the best condition you can for your hard earned money and when buying american unit rings the prices reflect what that unit did in the war like gen. pattons third devision ring or what i call the audie murphy div. ring do your history on these divisions and what they did in the war just like gaspare said buy the best for your hard earned money just like our ss honor rings paying top dollar for a honor ring with the name removed or a resized ring with a runic missing in my opinion these above honor rings have very low value i would rather invest my money on a very worn honor ring with the ss soldiers name reguardless of his rank i laugh at post reguarding a ss soldier being a pencil pusher hell no thats wrong so he has a low rank who cares he still has his beloved ss honor ring 1st lt. is nothing to snezz at the bigest thrill is finding Himmler/hHeydrich/ Karltenbrunners/Eichmanns rings better off standing out in traffic you probly would stand a better chance well any way thank you for showing all of these american unit rings great posts guys thanks god bless andy militarynut

Honor rings regardless of condition are not going for cheap anytime soon and if anything will probably retain and increase in value along with all the other rings. Regardless to me the rings themselves are not about the money I just like them. They are small and portable especially handy in a world of smaller and smaller affordable living spaces. So many professional jobs and others necessitate portability of location the big den and trophy room and 11.5 acres are rarer to see amongst the professionals and others who gravitate toward the higher paying jobs and bigger cities with smaller spaces. What other niche of the hobby lets you carry your entire collection in your front pocket? These are great 21st century collectibles and give you so many display options. History in a one inch band? That is the beauty of the ring.

Here is a new one for me for this category. A lot of enamel went into the making of this Grouse Co ring and really a lot still remains. I like it a lot

Yes that is correct probably made in 1945 with the v for victory. USAF was not until 1947 I believe.

Here is in my opinion an absolutely beautiful theatre made piece, stunning enamelwork and 4 stones adorning the sides. Sterling silver size 11.5 men?s ring -likely a pilots. Made in occupied japan 1945-1947. (The usaaf emblem was no more by mid 47). Almost a Guilloch? look to the blue enamel on this one.

The ring was made to accept 2 gems. It wasn't just an add on . You can see 2 purpose made areas for gems.. That is a beauty. Wonder if the 2 'gems' meant anything?
Good catch!. . .,G.

guys,,I'm going to try and merge all the US war rings to one topic.. So,,if you have any or need an opinion you can always add them to this topic..

thanks...
I'll add my all time US favorite. Had family attached to the unit.. This is not a family bring back [I wish] just something I had been looking for a long while.. With US rings I go for condition and size as I like to occasionally wear them..

This has to be the most interesting and attractive US military ring I have seen, very nice Mike. These are becoming popular and since they are commonly found, cheaper than German rings - although that may change quickly.

my cousin just found this in a silver pile he had..

Really nice piece. In great condition.. 1917 on one side,,and crossed rifles on other.. A ring for the times,,immigration, borders, patriotic, etc.
Unmarked silver,, not sure what he's going to do with it.. I'd say a keeper,,but really not his thing.. Still a super ring!

I usually don't buy US rings unless there is something special about them... This is a WWII 3rd. Army silver & enamel ring. Made in postwar Germany. Pressed, real enamel, 800 marked in band. Thin band....

sorry Mikee,, not really sure,,think just marked 'Sterling' inside..

Here's another that sold for big money a couple weeks ago. A high grade sterling silver example. This one a real beauty in 4 color enamel..

Yes, these US enamels are commanding good money especially WW2 examples and are quite hard to find currently....

Here is a rare USA 97th infantry division ring from the grouse company in size 10. This division gained its nickname the trident division because it was trained for amphibious assaults in the pacific but was deployed first to the ETO because of casualties incurred during the battle of the bulge. They fought in the Ruhr pocket and were liberators of 2 camps before being re deployed to the PTO in the summer of 1945.

**it was a member of this division who is recognized as the soldier who fired the last shot of ww2 in the ETO.**
