Hi folks,

Here are some better photos of my Gegen Engelland ring. As a Scotsman, this is particularly appealing to me... wink

Spitfire,, just my opinion,,but this is a postwar piece.. The ring was made on a trial basis.. There are adverts for them in period magazines,,,but none, none in solid silver.,,and with the gouges on the inner band it appears all silver... The details etc. has some problems that lead me to believe its cast / postwar. It is a nice looking ring,,and can be a good wearer. As always please, no offence just my opinion and IF you like it, enjoy the hell out of it!!!!!!!

Hi Spitfire,

Yes, you are correct, the metal of my ring is brass/messing.

What I see on your ring, could be molding traces (only my honest observation)

-The pitting, specially on the sides ornament stripes. Ornaments not sharp in the corners.
-Pic 3 On the shank leftside, above, lack of material ?
-Backside of the front ; under! the parallel scratches in the middle, is starting on the distorted the “ NR” a weak line going up .

It is just my observation .
Perhaps someone can give still more information about the ring.

Benten
