I was thinking a couple of days if I want to show this ring here. There is no special story behind it and You never like ring with stories. This ring I have received as a gift from my mothers friend (lady is 80 years old). My mother at some point in the past told her that I collect dirty nazi rings. She gave this one to my mother as a gift. I do not know where from she get it. I was told this ring was always at her home. No more, nothing. IMO a jevelery job. Band is familiar. Have a look...

Wow Piotr that's pretty cool, no matter what anyone says- the fact that your mom's friend is basically saying - "oh, nazi rings you say? Here's something for piotr!" Lol! That's awesome- really, in this case the story alone is priceless imho! Anyhow I for one can't make any judgement on it, certainly I've never seen one like it before - but it's really interesting and pretty great that someone gave it to you, I thinks that's terrific man... thank you very much for sharing this- as far as I know this might be a near mint authentic piece, in which case... even better!! best of luck with the opinions,
Mike

In any case a very cool looking piece.
Pics are a little small but the plate looks hand engraved.

Beautiful ring!

I was looking thru some 2017 rings... Came across this topic.. A member bought the ring and wanted a complete 100% authentication. He asked me I really didn't like it nor wanted to get involved.. I told him to bring it to a competent jeweler to test the enamel.. Pretty sure he said 2 jewelers said it was good black glass enamel!
Now I was a bit interested..
SO,,the ring gets sent to me. There was a casting fault here and there that could be seen with a good loop.,, but most damming and the end all,,,It was NOT enamel.. But a quick enamel. Pretty hard stuff but failed the hot pin test as seen here.

To bad,,a nice looking ring. Now a dangerous fake!

its only a dangerous fake,if I try to sell it as an original, which I would never do, it stays with me. mike

you know it does have some value even as a copy its so well done!

It's got style and flash,,a good display piece,, and even a wearer wink .

Mike, no worries with you as the owner.. Everyone pays tuition when you get in this hobby and you learn from it and get your degree. this is just yours!

I asked for price, said $500. I passed but maybe this is a bait and switch? The ring on top looks different to me but now it is permanently damaged due to the pin test

That rings not damaged it is unmasked as the repro it is. I guarantee Gaspare or whomever would not have done the hot pin test without saying heres what I want to do if you want a 1000 percent guarantee of originality - this can happen are you 100 percent ok with it? Lore a real ring is a real ring a fake ring is a fake ring period.

I'm sure the ring was sold in good faith with the seller fully thinking the ring was authentic..

After much discussion it was still being thought that maybe somehow the ring could be authentic!
So, after a full description of what was going to be done I then obtained permission to do the test. IF the jewelers were experienced none of this would have had to taken place. But as they say '[BadWord] happens'.
After the permission it took 5 min to perform the test and get the results.. Believe me I would have loved for the ring to be authentic,,it just wasn't meant to be.

Anyway,,it could be smoothed out and and look the same as before.

I bought the ring fully understanding that it was a 50/50 chance of not being original, I took the chance, but i don't feel
disappointed. a ring with a known shank design with a separate runic emblem fixed,i wonder what it would be like if I had the black removed,

It would look like a period blank with postwar engraving imho. Proud standing runes as some of our members like to say or rather the raised relief runes would be a turn off to many a collector myself included. A non jeweler made trench art kind of piece is a leap of faith many of these guys just wont take with these rings just my 2p
Best
