I'll spare the whole saga- really made my move after one email confirmation from Gaspare... Won on eBay auction -seller from Niedersachsen. Early piece in great shape-- initials read "I.J." (I think) and the date is clearly engraved as "25.10.1935." Lots of patina but in phenomenal shape- skull is hollow but still attached nicely. box came with it, but does not appear to be original to the ring, although a period ring box. Smaller size maybe 7 1/2 USA men's. Nice laurins mark and silver content stamp behind skull as it should be. Join seam is in rear, but looks like jeweler did a nice job with seam scar. Posted from Northeim- I believe it's very possible that as SS junkerschule Braunschweig ( which opened in mid 1935) is right there- there may have had a young man that got this as a grad present or a birthday gift.

Nice ring, the head is very thin on that, I used to own one with smashed head. But once a while ago I got a better one.
Great catch.

hi mike
your magnificent skull ring here has opened up my mind what little i have left. your ring is dated 25.10.935 my ss lightning bolt ring is dated oct. 1935 could this be a connection here to himmlers ss junkershule braunshweig that opened in mid 1935 might even be possible that both our ss officers graduated at the same time in 1935 that would be great if we had just a little more proof at least with you finding this engraved skull ring we found a little more information . gaspare is right try and trace the jewelers shop perhaps one of our german friends here on this forum can help you who knows what information you can uncover you have nothing to loose all to gain . i personly want to thank you for posting your great skull ring with this date many thanks have a great day andy militarynut

Hey Andy
Yes I forgot about that ring, I will find it in the threads... Could be! I don't think the ring box goes with the ring, though- looks to be a period box- but looks like it was for another size or type of ring in the slot... I could be wrong tho but if I get to max I would like to have u and G your trusted eyes tell me about that ring slot, u guys would know! Thanks for the cheers and the thoughts guys- it's one of the nicest rings I own if not the nicest outside of my HR. (As if I need another skull ring!)

Hey thunda! Yea man it's gorgeous- I'll never touch a ring tho, for me the patination is part of its beauty...

I agree mike, that 80 year old patina makes that ring even more stunning!

This is a stunning ring and must be special due to engraving, more special than we think I'm sure. How did this go on eBay?

Went for a ton and was a bargain at any price, regardless it isn't for sale- sorry!
